Description

Mark Twain Library’s Stone’s Throw series highlights the very best our area has to offer. We’ll meet up at the destinations, and participate in FREE specially arranged, small group tours. Explore the buildings and grounds of the only National Park in CT dedicated to preserving and celebrating the life of an artist.

The park commemorates the life of American Impressionist painter J. Alden Weir. We’ll get an overview of the artist’s main house and studio, and get to peek inside a few of the farm’s outbuildings. Afterward, weather permitting, visitors may explore the grounds or borrow art supplies from the park’s Visitor Center.
