Across the globe, Bloomsday has become a day of celebrating renowned Irish writer and poet James Joyce. In his brilliant 1922 novel Ulysses, June 16 is the day Leopold Bloom meets his eventual wife, Nora Barnacle. This event will be marked by customary reverie and celebration.
Enjoy a conversation with Fordham University Chair of Irish Studies and Joyce scholar Keri Walsh and award-winning artist and playwright Brian Whelan. Keri Walsh’s edition of Joyce’s only play Exiles, published in 1918, is forthcoming from Oxford World’s Classics. She is also the editor of James Joyce’s Dubliners (Broadview Press, 2016) and The Letters of Sylvia Beach (Columbia University Press, 2010).
This event is free of charge.
