How has racism shaped our understanding of human culture, and how can we practically begin to dismantle racism in the arts and culture?
The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County has organized a “Collective Action Against Racism & Inequity” initiative: a series of public conversations and workshops for its members and others.
The series launches Sept 15 with the first of three public conversations designed and led by Valeria and Andrea Lopez, of OnBeat Consulting, “Reimagining Arts & Culture,” that center on examining and interrupting the dominant story in the arts and culture sector that has excluded or misrepresented Black and Indigenous People of Color.
The subjects of the three conversations are: “Race, Power and Privilege in the Arts,” “Empathy in Times of Crisis,” and “Moving From Empathy to Action.” Full details and sign-ups at
This event is free of charge.
