Description

"Transfiguration" is the concluding concert in The Charles Ives Concert Series of the Danbury Music Centre, in collaboration with the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra. The concert features RSO Music Director Yuga Cohler, and Ives Series Artist-Faculty.

In this final concert of the series: Unsuk Chin transforms the idea of an etude; Carlos Simon translates a quote from Oprah; 2019 composer-in-residence Robert Paterson processes real-world sounds through electronics; Gabriella Smith reconstructs Bach; David T. Little renews the energy of Ives; Takashi Yoshimatsu invokes birds; and Ives Series artistic director Paul Frucht deals with memory and self-reference.

Each work on our final August concert features works that transform sound or music in unique and fascinating ways.
