With professional facilities and experienced faculty, our full-day, Summerstock theatre arts workshops are ideal, creative outlets! In Summerstock camp, students work in age-appropriate groups. Each session culminates in a showcase for family and friends. ACT NOW TO ACT OUT!
Creative Theatre (ages 11-16): June 24 to July 3, 2019; Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Through rotating study in Improv, Shakespeare and Modern Acting in age-appropriate groups (5th and 6th grade, 7th and 8th grade, high school), students will tap into their own creativity to assemble a showcase performance on the final date drawing upon the instincts, teamwork and timing built in Improv, the technique and discipline developed in Modern Acting and the power tapped through Shakespeare’s language. The session culminates in a showcase performance on the final date at 7:00pm.
Musical Theatre (ages 11-16): July 8 to 19, 2019; Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This fun and focused, full-day workshop will sharpen skills in singing, acting and dance. In age-appropriate groups (5th and 6th grade, 7th and 8th grade, high school), students will rotate between these three subjects and be introduced to various musicals that share a common theme. The session also includes a day that focuses entirely on audition preparation. The session culminates in a showcase performance on the final date at 7:00pm.
Summerstock Junior (ages 6-11): Two, separate, two-week sessions,
July 22 to August 2 and August 5 to 16, 2019; Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
ummerstock Junior provides a strong foundation in acting and performance for ages six to eleven by offering a balance of script acting, improv and musical theatre. The day will include warm-up games, exercises and activities that involve all students and other periods where students will receive specialized instruction in age-appropriate groups (ages six to eight and ages nine to eleven). Students will present a showcase of their work on the final day of each session at 3:00pm. They will also work on special arts and crafts projects relating to their showcase performance.
Programs take place in a safe, professional environment and are designed to promote participation in the arts, develop more successful lives, build greater self-confidence and social awareness, and introduce new friends with common interests!
