Description

Join me as we approach a different element of the novel each day.

Day 1. Locking down your premise using the “what if” technique.
Day 2. Character development and your protagonist’s quest.
Day 3. Setting – approach this properly and your setting will become a compelling character in itself.
Day 4. Inciting Event – start your book with a chapter that will hook the reader and not let them go. Then Raise the Stakes.
Day 5. Everyone has a secret – Each of your characters has their own unique secret. Uncovering it can have riveting consequences.

Participants should come with a work-in-progress. The daily theme will be discussed followed by written exercises in class. In addition, there may be some light homework. By week’s end, participants will have the necessary tools to unlock and tackle the novel secretly simmering inside them.
