This thrilling giant-screen experience re-lives the wonder and drama of the first lunar landing, as it happened 50 years ago this July.
“Apollo 11: First Steps Edition” captures the human achievement of this historic endeavor. With never-before-seen 70mm footage and a trove of newly discovered audio recordings, the filmmakers reconstruct the Apollo 11 mission in astonishing detail: the final preparation, countdown, liftoff, landing and return of one of mankind’s greatest achievements – all on The Maritime Aquarium’s six-story screen, the largest in Connecticut.
Immersing you among the astronauts, the team in Mission Control and millions of spectators on the ground, “Apollo 11: First Steps Edition” documents those momentous days and hours in 1969 when we took a giant leap into the future, leaving us all to marvel at human ingenuity and the impulse that led us into space.
“Apollo 11: First Steps Edition” is produced by Statement Pictures in partnership with CNN Films, and distributed by MacGillivray Freeman Films.
