Presented in affiliation with the Inspired Writers Series hosted by MFA Program’s Phil Klay

Tom Sleigh, a renowned poet and journalist, discusses the ethics of writing about war and atrocity. He has written powerful and complex work about conflict, including the 2023 Paterson Poetry Prize-winning book The King's Touch and his most recent book of essays, The Land Between Two Rivers: Writing In an Age of Refugees. Sleigh has been a Guggenheim Fellow, NEA grant recipient, and has received numerous awards. His poems have appeared in various magazines, including The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Threepenny Review, Poetry, The Southern Review, Harvard Review, Raritan, and The Common.
