You have a story to tell. But how to get started? In this generative, supportive class, we'll look at the opening chapters of memoirs and discuss what craft elements the writers use to draw in the readers, introduce themselves as reliable and interesting narrators, and establish the world of their particular story. Participants will take part in writing prompts and exercises designed to get their memoirs or personal essays going, and will be invited to share their work in class for some gentle, positive feedback.
