Description

Join us for an interactive conversation with the emerging scholar, Manon Gaudet, PhD candidate in the History of Art at Yale University. Manon will discuss the collection of Native North American artworks and belongings currently on view in the Elizabeth Fray Gallery, with a specific focus on pieces made for the tourist market. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of how Indigenous artists interacted with a market for Native American goods in the nineteenth-century and the significance of making as an act of sovereignty.
