Thank you for embracing the Bruce Museum's growing collection of online programs, learning activities, and other digital content. Of special note: The Museum has launched three new virtual exhibitions this month, including "On the Edge of the World: Masterworks by Laurits Andersen Ring from SMK—the National Gallery of Denmark."
Director of Exhibitions Anne von Stuelpnagel has created a fascinating online tour of the Museum’s acclaimed international exhibition of one of the most important figures in Danish art. The exhibition opened in February in the Museum’s newly renovated main gallery, organized in collaboration with SMK, the national gallery of Denmark, Copenhagen, and AFSMK, American Friends of SMK.
The virtual exhibition features a comprehensive overview of all of the paintings on view, as well as a series of brief videos by famed Danish actor Lars Mikkelsen commenting on the artwork of L.A. Ring and the key themes that represent the painter’s oeuvre. The website also includes a downloadable Family Gallery Guide designed to help virtual visitors discover and explore the artwork of Laurits Anderson Ring through the seasons.
