Description

This summer, the Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University celebrates its 30th season of Missoula Children’s Theatre Camps. This renowned children’s summer theatre program offers six in-person sessions from which to choose with a performance on the Friday evening at the end of each session. A total of 60 community children, grades 1-12, may be registered in each weekly session.

A variety of speaking and ensemble roles are offered. No advance preparation is needed.

To ensure the health and safety of all Missoula participants, we will be working within guidelines set forth by the CDC, State of Connecticut, Town of Fairfield, and Fairfield University. Please see below for protocols and guidelines currently in place.

2021 Sessions:

Alice in Wonderland - July 12-16, 2021
Sleeping Beauty - July 19-23, 2021
Johnny Appleseed - July 26-30, 2021
Johnny Appleseed - August 2-6, 2021
Hansel and Gretel - August 9-13, 2021
The Emperor's New Clothes - August 16-20, 2021

Daily Schedule:

Monday - Thursday

9:15 a.m. – 2 p.m. Rehearsals plus Acting, Dance, Music and Art
Bring a sack lunch for a 1/2-hour break.

Friday

3:30 p.m. through showtime
Dress Rehearsal
Bring a brown bag dinner for a 1/2-hour break.
7:30 p.m. Performance

Extra, Extra!

Enhance your child’s learning experience by adding Extra! Extra!

Campers will work directly with Missoula directors in a small group plus be a part of a collaborative project that is showcased on performance night. Sessions available Monday through Thursday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. $55 per child.

Tuition

$325 for the first child

$300 for any additional children in the same family.

Full tuition is due at time of registration.

COVID-19 Protocols and Guidelines

The Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) and MCT Presenter responsibilities regarding COVID-19 within guidelines set forth by each State/County/City Phase along with the local health department and CDC guidelines in concert with MCT’s contract requirements:

Take every precaution to ensure the health and safety of the MCT Tour Actor/Directors and local cast.

Limit cast size as dictated by State/County/City Phases along with the local health department and CDC guidelines.

Limit the number of scripts that are distributed and utilize a digital option where possible. Any that are distributed will be disposable.

Provide make-up plots if individuals want to apply their own. No stage make-up will be used.

Launder all costume pieces prior to arrival and prior to departure from community. No dry-cleaned items will be utilized.

Disinfect all props after every use.

Provide a detailed plan for audition, rehearsals, and performance prior to the week in concert with Presenter within the guidelines set forth by State/County/City Phases along with the local health department and CDC guidelines.

Provide a high-quality experience for all involved.
