The 26th annual Jacoby-Lunin Humanitarian Lecture in affiliation with the Carl and Dorothy Bennett Center for Judaic Studies

Susannah Heschel, PhD, the Eli M. Black Distinguished Professor of Jewish Studies at Dartmouth College, pays tribute to her father, Abraham Joshua Heschel, a prominent rabbinical scholar and humanist. Deported from Poland in 1938, Heschel immigrated to the U.S. and focused on social and economic justice for oppressed minorities. Heschel is a Guggenheim Fellow and chair of the Jewish Studies program at Dartmouth College. Her scholarship includes biblical, Jewish scholarship on Islam, and anti-Semitism.
