New Canaan Library, Stand Together Against Racism (S.T.A.R.) and the New England Academy of Dance (NEAD), present a special screening of Misty Copeland’s documentary-in-dance, Flower. Following the screening will be a spectacular dance premiere by NEAD, created and choreographed by Ted Thomas to reflect the themes of Misty’s film. In addition, a Q & A featuring Christina Johnson, Dance Theatre of Harlem and Complexions principal dancer. Ms. Johnson plays the role of Misty’s mother and worked closely with Misty on the film. Misty Copeland stars in and produced the documentary, Flower. The 28-minute short, features new music composed by Grammy Award-winning recording artist Raphael Saadiq.
