The Shoes exhibition at the New Canaan Museum and Historical Society has been extremely successful and is now extended through October 15.
Donna Gorman, board governor and owner of See Design, Inc., conceived of, and curated, Shoes, an extensive exhibition of men’s, women’s and children’s shoes. Drawn from the Museum’s 400 pairs, she selected 200 based on a number of factors including age, condition, originality, and function. Come see early galoshes, sneakers, beaded heels, dancing shoes, furry sleigh boots, and much more. Learn about the shoe industry in New Canaan that thrived for more than 100 years and helped shape the downtown commercial district. This is the first time in the history of this Museum that such an expanded selection has been on display. It is not to be missed.
The exhibition is free to members and $5 for non-members. For more information, call (203) 966-1776 or go to nchistory.org.
