Anthony Davis's groundbreaking opera, Malcolm, returns to the Met with a new staging by Robert O'Hara. O'Hara, nominated for a Tony Award in 2020, portrays Malcolm as an everyman whose story transcends time and space. The cast includes Baritone Will Liverman, Soprano Leah Hawkins, Mezzo-soprano Raehann Bryce-Davis, Bass-baritone Michael Sumuel, and tenor Victor Ryan Robertson. Kazem Abdullah conducts the revised score, providing a jazz-inflected setting for Thulani Davis's libretto.
