Carrie Cracknell debuts at the Met with a modern staging of the classic story of deadly passion, set against a band of human traffickers. Akhmetshina leads a powerful ensemble, with Piotr Beczała as Carmen's lover, Angel Blue as Micaëla, and Kyle Ketelsen as Escamillo. Daniele Rustioni conducts the heart-pounding score by Bizet.
