Dead Man Walking, based on Sister Helen Prejean's memoir, is set to premiere at the Met in a new production by Ivo van Hove. The opera features Heggie's poignant music and a libretto by Terrence McNally. The cast includes Joyce DiDonato as Sister Helen, Ryan McKinny as the death-row inmate Joseph De Rocher, Latonia Moore as Sister Rose, and Susan Graham as De Rocher's mother.
