Applications for Preserving Black Churches (PBC) grants, a cornerstone initiative of the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund, are now open! PBC grants ranging from $50,000 to $500,000 are intended to preserve historic houses of worship (those with active congregations or that are being repurposed for new uses within the community) and advance preservation activities including capital projects, programming and interpretation, capacity building, project planning, and endowment and financial sustainability. Library of Congress Lewis-Houghton Initiative

Annual awards of up to $100,000 are available to support projects in which analysis of the Library of Congress’ music or creative arts-related digitized primary sources supports learning about history, civics, and/or democracy at the middle and high school levels. The Collections Stewardship program funds projects to preserve and make available physical and digital collections important for research, teaching, and public engagement in the humanities. Awards support the work of libraries, archives, and museums; colleges and universities working on collections access; and organizations that provide preservation services or educate and train students and professionals in collections stewardship.
