Carlos Davila has a new public art sculpture on display in downtown Providence through 2023. Sine Wave, a 13′ foot tall sculpture, and the others in this series are constructed of triangular forms, from the base to the top. The series is a play on geometry because a triangle is a profoundly simple shape, yet is the strongest. Triangles are also used to create the digital world. CGI is approximated using an incredibly fine mesh of triangles.
Sine Wave is installed at the corner of Dorrance Street and Fountain Street as part of the sculpture program of The Avenue Concept of Providence, displaying large scale sculpture on several curated sites throughout downtown Providence.
