Carole has been painting since 2012 although she was a printmaking student studying under Jacob Lawrence who was her professor at the University of Washington in Seattle.

She is attracted to people’s stories and nature: Important influences from her youth in Texas and Missouri are Thomas Hart Benton, and Georgia O’Keeffe. Current favorite artist-storytellers include Eric Fischl.

While storytelling underlies many of Carole’s pieces, most of her work is ‘plein air ‘ – the combined result of loving the outdoors, limited time, and tiny studio space! And of course the colors, shapes, and rhythms of nature are irresistible: Sonia Delaunay, Annie Albers, and Van Gogh are favorites. Carole’s work is in private collections throughout the US, UK, and Australia.
