The Greenwich Alliance for Education was launched in 2006 as the local education foundation supporting students in the Greenwich Public Schools. Since our founding we have dedicated $3.7 million to funding innovation, expanding opportunities, and inspiring educators. While progress has been made, our schools are still challenged by a diverse population, a persistent opportunity gap, and constraints on the ability to respond to a rapidly changing world. We believe it is our shared community responsibility to leverage resources and build partnerships to guarantee all students achieve academic success and a promising future. We are proud to funder of The Developing Artist program in the Greenwich middle schools - This program brings professional studio artists to the middle school art classrooms. During these workshops, the artists demonstrate their form of art and then create a piece of artwork with the students. We thank the CT Office of the Arts for grant funding for this program. Tuning In To Music is a Greenwich Alliance signature program and provides free instrumental music lessons to students in grade 4-12 who are eligible for free/reduced price lunch. We offer this program in collaboration with Greenwich Public School music teachers and the CT School of Music. More than 800 students have benefited from these music lessons.
