Rosa E. Colón

I grow up in a beautiful area, surrounded by huge mountains and amazing variety of flowers. These influenced the direction of my painting as much as the paintings of Georgia O’Keeffe.

Since I remember, my paintings have always been inspired by nature, its outlines, its labyrinthine shapes and vibrant colors. My main source of inspiration are the flowers (I am especially fascinated by roses, their varied colors, their delicacy and exclusive fragrance.

I describe my subjects in a realistic manner, with a variety of mediums, using mainly oils on canvas (my preferred medium) with strong colors.
