The Schubert Club of Fairfield County is a thriving collective of musicians who perform compose, and teach. We offer growth opportunities for professional musicians, passionate amateurs, and budding artists of the next generation. All are welcome.
History: In the autumn of 1910, a small group of Stamford opera lovers, lead by Mrs. Frederick Schuyler Wardwell, decided to form a club. It quickly grew to include over 30 members. By 1916, opera study was enhanced by recitals performed in various auditoriums and private homes. As the club grew, in 1920 guest artists were sponsored in public concerts, and by 1924, the club was incorporated under the name, The Schubert Club of Stamford.
