Tracy Hoffman is an award-winning fine art photographer using medium and large-format 8×10 film view cameras. Her color and black and white photographs range from rhythmic landscapes to meticulously composed studio-based assemblages. As a photo-based artist she is interested in challenging the viewer’s perceptions and expectations by making images that create dialogue between the history of 20th century art and the mysteries of photographic space.
Tracy received her BFA in Visual Arts from Purchase College where she fell in love with the transformative power of photography. Her art has been widely exhibited, including the New Britain Museum of American Art; Danforth Art Museum; The Museum of Municipal Heritage in Malaga, Spain; Site: Brooklyn Gallery; Center for Fine Art Photography in Colorado; Westport Art Center; Soho Photo Gallery, NY; Flash Forward Festival, Boston MA; Fowler-Kellogg Art Center and Strohl Art Center in Chautauqua, NY; among others.
