Close to Home
"Home" can be a place, a person, a memory, a community, or simply a feeling. Artists are invited to consider what feels familiar, intimate, personal, or deeply known—and what happens when we look at it again. Variations in size and shape are encouraged, as well as applications in two- and three-dimensional formats. The goal of this exhibition is to be a celebration of the concept of “home” and what it can mean within the context of an artist’s experience.
Anna Patalano
Anna Patallano painter, curator, educator, and arts leader whose career has centered on helping artists develop meaningful, authentic creative practices while maintaining an active studio practice of her own. She currently serves as Managing Director of the Greenwich Art Society, where she oversees programming, exhibition initiatives, and artist development, while also teaching painting and mentoring artists at every stage of their careers. Her perspective as a juror is shaped by decades of looking closely at artwork—as a practicing artist, curator, educator, and advocate for the visual arts.

THEME: Between Here and There
Every journey includes a space between where we were, where we are, and where we're going. That space may be physical, emotional, personal, or imagined. This exhibition invites artists to interpret that idea in their own way. Whether your work reflects movement, memory, transformation, discovery, defining "here" or "there," or simply a moment of pause, Between Here and There celebrates the many paths we travel—and the stories we tell along the way.
Digital Entry is open to all members. Works are not eligible if previously accepted for one of our juried exhibitions; if they have been exhibited in the Bendheim, Flinn or GAS Galleries; or if completed before 2023. Woody Guthrie's song, This Land is Your Land, was written to remind us that our country, with all its opportunity, and potential, belongs to all of us, not just the privileged few.
For this show, we encourage artists to show us America through their unique lens. Guthrie performed all across the USA, so his song is also a travelogue describing places he had been: California, The New York (Staten) Island, the redwood forest, the Gulf stream waters, golden valley, diamond deserts, and wheat fields. Perhaps you can find inspiration there.
Visual art, music, written/spoken word, and dance art forms are encouraged.

Summer brings its own rhythm and flow each year. It inspires its own genre and repertoire. We encourage artists to consider the concepts of rhythm, shape, texture, and color as they relate to the experience of summer. Shaping a summer, summer textures, the colors of summer, changes in pace, are all thoughts to consider. We are excited to open these concepts and ideas as inspiration for the artists own personal experience. All mediums are encouraged and acceptable for this exhibit. Abstract and representational artworks in 2D and 3D formats, including select installations will enrich the exhibition. Please consider entering your own creative interpretations.
