NO DEMO! How to Protect your Historic Treasures
TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY: The Fairfield County Preservation Network (FCPN), in collaboration with the CT League of History Organizations, presents NO DEMO!: How to Protect your Historic Treasures 6-8pm at Weston Historical Society – an evening in which the story of the failure to save a precious building from demolition (Bridgeport’s Sanborn Library building, demolished Aug. 2019) is met with the story of the success in rescuing two threatened historic treasures (the 1840s Parsonage and late-1700s Hubbell Houses in New Fairfield in 2006). What was it that prevented the one from being rescued and the others from being destroyed?
Tod Bryant, President of the Norwalk Preservation Trust, will then succinctly describe the process for finding and listing historic properties with the Connecticut Register of Historic Places. Free and open to all. More details and registration here:
