Annual holiday exhibit & sale at the Carriage Barn Arts Center

Submit your small, original artwork (up to 18″ x 18″, $300 or less), limited-edition prints, sculpture and other handcrafted items for our annual holiday exhibit.

Submissions may include ornaments and holiday-related gifts such as jewelry, ceramics, candles, books, wooden toys, knits/fiber art, cards. Submit by Nov. 3

The Carriage Barn Arts Center is excited to be presenting (in collaboration with the Glass House) the 2nd Annual Stand Up Against Racism (S.T.A.R.) exhibition this fall (on view October 28 - November 12). The multi-media exhibition Through Your Looking Glass will highlight the work of student artists (ANY age) that is related to racism, social justice, the environment, anti-bullying and messages of peace and hope. Every student who submits (within the guidelines) will be included. Please submit works that are framed and or ready to be hung. Deadline is October 23rd.
Opening reception will be held at the Carriage Barn Saturday October 28th 12pm-2pm. Students, family, friends and community members are welcome to attend.

The Bruce Museum is excited to announce that we are accepting applications for our inaugural Artist-in-Residency program. Through the support of the Art Bridges Foundation, the Bruce Museum will host one Artist-in-Residence for a period of nine months, from November 1, 2023, to July 31, 2024. This initiative will introduce an Artist-in-Residence to the Bruce for the first time in the Museum’s history. This residency includes an educational component, through which we encourage the Artist-in-Residence to facilitate discourse between the exhibition, their practice, and Museum visitors.

Pequot Library 23rd Juried Art Show will take place in October and Submissions are now open! Deadline is Friday, September 22.

Painting, photography, mixed media, works on paper, drawing, multi-media, and sculpture will be accepted. This call is open to all visual artists (18 and over) in New England and the tri-state area. The juried exhibition will be on view for the public from October 13 to October 24, 2023.
Maximum of 3 submissions per artist. Limited to works that have not been shown in a previous Pequot Library Art Show and that have been executed in the last 2 years. Artists will be notified by October 1.

In 1980, Faber Birren, world renowned color consultant, author of 27 books on color, endowed the Faber Birren Color Award Exhibit with awards for original and creative expression of color. The Faber Birren Color Award Exhibit has grown from a regional exhibit to one of national scope, encouraging artists in all media. This competition is the only artistic event devoted exclusively to the use of color. This year the Stamford Art Association celebrates the 43rd year of the Faber Birren National Color Award Exhibit in person at The Townhouse Gallery in Stamford as well as online.

The Carriage Barn Arts Center 2023/24 season will begin with the Annual Member Show, September 9 - October 12. This exhibit celebrates the range, interests, and talents of artist members working across all subjects, styles, and media.

Current or new members may submit up to three original works no larger than 30 x 40 inches (or 36″ x 36″), not previously exhibited at the Carriage Barn Arts Center. The theme is open and all media is accepted, including sculpture installations (indoor or outdoor) and video. Join or renew at carriagebarn.org -- membership must be current for the duration of the show through October 12, 2023

Artists are asked to submit 9 pieces that will be reviewed by a selection committee and 5 artists will be selected to exhibit at the SAA Townhouse Gallery in Stamford, CT.

If accepted the artists will pay an additional exhibition fee of $100 for members and $120 for nonmembers. SAA will provide gallery coverage Fridays-Sundays 12-3 and PR coverage. Artists may arrange for access at other times.
A non-refundable fee of $50 submitted at the time of entry on Entrythingy.

The exhibit will run August 17-September 1 2023. There will be a reception on the first night, Aug 17. Receiving is Friday August 11 12-2 and Saturday August 12 12-2. All work must be hand delivered. Pick up date is Friday September 1 12-2 or Saturday September 2 12-2.

The Loft Artist Association is pleased to announce an open call for entries for our 10th Annual Juried Exhibition. Our juror is Kimberly Henrikson, the Executive Director of the Center for Contemporary Printmaking. All entries will be submitted and reviewed via EntryThingy. The Show dates are Saturday, September 9 – Sunday, October 8, 2023. Deadlines include August 15, for entries, September 9, for artist notifications, and August 27-28, for artwork delivery. An Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 9 from 5-7 PM. The theme is open, and all artists are invited to submit.

Kimberly Henrikson is in her 6th year as Executive Director at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking.

The Best of Ourselves show is a collaboration of Art Alliance of Stratford and Black Rock Art Guild.

Artists are each given the opportunity to share their personal story or journey that reflects their inspiration and helps the artists and those viewing the work to form a connection showing the strength of the character of our communities.

This is a multimedia juried exhibit with cash prizes. We are asking artists to submit 1-5 pieces of artwork on the theme of any subject depicting the sea, the seashore, boats and activity on or near the water. The exhibit is named after Vivian and Stanley Reed, two founding members of SAA and avid sailors. The juror is Mike Bagley, Director of Marine Operations for SoundWaters, and an artist. The deadline for entries is June 14.

The exhibit will run July 6-August 10, 2023. There will be a reception Thursday, July 6, 5:30-7pm. Receiving is Friday, June 23, 12-2 and Saturday, June 24, 12-2 at the Townhouse Gallery. Pickup is Friday, August 11, 12-2 and Saturday, August 12, 12-2.

Prospectus: The Carriage Barn Arts Center and The New Canaan Chamber of Commerce are seeking artists to showcase in New Canaan store windows, and to participate in a downtown celebration of the arts. Artists may submit up to three pieces which may be selected for display and sale in one of New Canaan’s premier retail windows.

All sizes are welcome, but take into consideration that many stores have limited window space so smaller pieces are easier to place. Any medium is welcome, including sculpture.

Celebrate our history at Museum of Darien and participate in our spring fundraiser, Doors of Darien
Saturday, June 3rd, 7-10pm

Artist, Kate Muir’s drawings and paintings of her favorite Darien doors, will be showcased along with the community’s submissions. All members of the community are invited to participate in this event by creating a painting of their favorite Darien door with one of our art kits, available for purchase now.

Our Art kits (2 canvases, paint, brushes) are on sale now with pickup during the museum’s open hours T-Th, 11am-4pm. Each kit is $20 or 6 kits for $100.
Finished artwork must be returned to the Museum by May 24th to be put on display and sold to benefit the Museum.
