OUTwork explores issues of gender, LGBTQ life, love and relationships, family, social justice, bias, personal stories and perspectives, pride, current issues of 2024, etc. Artists need not be gay, lesbian, nonbinary, or transgender to participate. Allies welcome.

The Loft Artist Association is pleased to announce a call for entries for Summer Abstracts, our Spring/Summer Juried Exhibition. Our juror is Elizabeth Tardif, the founder of Cherry Street Art and Exhibition Manager at the Kershner Gallery in Fairfield, CT. All entries will be submitted and reviewed via EntryThingy. The Show dates are Saturday, June 1 – Sunday, June 30, 2024. Deadlines include May 17, for entries, May 24, for artist notifications, and May 28-, for artwork delivery. An Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 1, from 4-6 PM. The juror will speak about the exhibit on Sunday, June 16, from 2-3:30 PM at the gallery. The theme Summer Abstracts is interpretational, all artists are invited to submit.

Spectrum is a juried exhibition of original, contemporary artwork by local and regional artists. The theme is Visual Rhythms and the juror Sam Wilson, a founding director of Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery, will review original works in all media that celebrate and explore the connection between Art & Music.

Exhibit runs from May 4 - June 2, 2024. Submission deadline is April 1.

Norwalk Symphony is holding auditions for the Principal Cello position on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 7-9pm at the Norwalk Concert Hall at Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Avenue, Norwalk. Position goes into effect with the 2024-2025 season.

High school + youth photographers are sought to enter their works in the Wilton Arts Council’s annual photo exhibit, FOCUS ’24, to be on display at the Wilton Library from March 23—April 26, 2024. Entry open to all regardless of town of residence. Students may enter up to two of their photos, which are judged in each division by a panel of notable area photographers.

The Curatorial Committee of the Kershner Gallery in the Fairfield Library seeks to enlarge the volunteer staff. Needed are those with art background or love of art, some social media skills, and enthusiasm about being part of this group.

Curators attend a monthly morning meeting, vote on whether to accept artists who apply to exhibit, curate with another committee member one or two shows a year, help hang the shows, and attend the receptions..

The Greenwich Historical Society Art and History Camp runs for a three week term from July 8th to July 26th averaging 20-25 campers per week. (2nd-8th grade) The camp is rooted in the history of the Bush-Holley House, focusing on the colonial time period for its history themed weeks and the works of the Cos Cob Art Colony for its art themed weeks.

The Camp Director is the primary person running the daily activities of the camp, its finances, and registration. This position requires a college degree; experience in fine arts management working with children, teens, and young adults; some supervisory and administrative experience and basic computer skills. Art background preferred.

A juried exhibition exploring our planet's ever-evolving landscape and the profound transformations occurring. We seek works exploring the impact of climate change, urbanization, and technology on our planet's delicate ecosystems and humanity's role in shaping the world.

The juror will develop an exhibition from a selection of works entered that reflect upon the transformations occurring in our natural surroundings contemplate our planet's past, present, and future. This exhibition aims to encompass various perspectives and interpretations of the changing landscape. Any artwork that addresses environmental themes or depicts the interaction between humans and their surroundings is eligible for consideration.

The Greenwich Choral Society announces auditions for Fairfield and Westchester County singers interested in becoming a member of the area’s premier choral group. Auditions will be conducted for those interested in joining the Greenwich Choral Society on the following dates: Tuesday, January 9th from 5:00 pm; Saturday, January 13th from 12:30 pm; and Tuesday, January 16th from 5:00 pm.

The Carriage Barn Arts Center Annual Juried Photography Show will run from February 3 - March 8, 2024. The exhibition will be juried by Brian Wallis (Executive Director) and Marina Chao (Curator) of The Center for Photography at Woodstock (CPW).

Submission is open to all regional photographers — amateur, professional, and student. All original photographic media, including film and digital images accepted. Criteria the juror will consider include: impact, creativity, style, composition, color balance, presentation, focal point, lighting, subject matter, narrative, and degree of difficulty. All subjects and styles will be considered.

Submission deadline is January 3 (midnight)

This is a multimedia exhibit for SAA members only. We are asking SAA members to submit 1-5 works for consideration. One of your pieces will be selected for display at an exhibit curated by the SAA Gallery Manager Casey Correa. Submit your best work and we will all celebrate the incredible talent of our members.
