I am thrilled to have won 2nd place for my 3 foot drawing entitled "Liberty". I am one of four artist who have been selected for the Walk and Talk at RGOA on Sunday May 5th 2-4pm. I will talk about my piece in the Juried Show and discuss my artist's process.

A special joint art exhibition will take place at the Kellogg Environmental Center in Derby. “Migration,” an outdoor installation of concrete and cement cast leaves by artist Elizabeth White, concurrent with “Plant Matters,” an indoor display of multimedia creations using natural materials and found objects by artist Anita Gangi Balkun will be available for viewing March 23rd through May 11th. Both artists draw inspiration from nature and incorporate elements of nature into their work. Available for viewing Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm

Artist Brian Whelan's Painting 'The Martyrdom of St. Edmund' makes the April 20th 2024 cover of The Tablet Magazine to highlight the public movement to replace St George, Patron Saint of England with St. Edmund.

MoCA Westport is excited to host a virtual community conversation with the curator of It Will Go On, Victoria McCraven, and the founder of the Black Art Library, Asmaa Walton. Community members will have the opportunity to communicate with the curator of the exhibition and the founder of the Black Art Library in a Q&A session following the discussion.

The newest exhibition, It Will Go On, poses text as a central and connective framework, highlighting artists who employ the written word as a driving component of their practice. Featured as part of the exhibition, Black Art Library provides visitors with a relaxed environment to learn more about Black visual art through the pop-up library

Step into the world of nature-inspired art at the Darien Nature Center as Alissa Siegal shares details about the process and inspiration behind her art now on display at the DNC. From birds and wild animals to vibrant flowers and landscapes, each piece tells a story. Join us for a discussion about the joys and challenges of making nature-inspired art, including her time as National Parks Artist in Residence on Weir Farm National Historical Park. The evening will include a walk-through of the gallery exhibit with discussion and Q&A. Visit the beautiful ARTworks Gallery at St Paul's on the Green to see Whelan's "bold and commanding" work on favorite Biblical narratives. The artist is there every Sunday in March from 12:30-1:30pm.

On April 6th the closing reception at 6:00pm will include a special visit and talk by Ruth Frey, Director of Community Programs and Public Life, Trinity Church, Wall Street, NYC. Frey was instrumental is exhibiting Whelan's work at the Washington National Cathedral.
