Leslee worked for Jim Henson and The Jim Henson Company for over twenty years. She began her career as a puppet builder, and went on to serve as Director of Exhibitions for Jim Henson Productions, curating and managing exhibitions world-wide. She also served as Executive Director of the Jim Henson Foundation and Producing Director of all 5 Henson International Festivals of Puppet Theater. She is a recognized expert in the field and has published articles and catalogs on the subject, including The Art of Contemporary Puppet Theater for the Katonah Museum of Art, a companion to the exhibition she curated there.

Leslee served as Executive Director of Silvermine Arts Center from 2010 to 2016; and Executive Director of The National Dance Institute (NDI) from 2004 to 2010.

She is now deeply involved with the Flinn Gallery. She has co-curated two shows there: Of Art and Craft, and Looking Forward, Looking Back, and will be co-curating Not By The Book for 2021. She co-wrote an article about the Flinn’s 90th anniversary for Venü Magazine—issue #40.
She has been a long-time Trustee of the Jim Henson Foundation, and is a member of Author’s Guild, ArtTable, Greenwich Pen Women, and the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County.
