I enjoy making art that is a bit quirky in theme or materials. Some of my work is very realistic & some abstract. Animals & nature are often the subjects of & inspiration for my art.
I have exhibited throughout Fairfield County, CT---at the Westport Arts Center, Ridgefield Guild of Artists, Silvermine Arts Center (New Canaan), Carriage Barn Arts Center (New Canaan), the Pequot Library Art Shows (Southport) & the Bendheim Gallery (Greenwich), amongst others.
I am a member of The Artists Collective of Westport. Some of my work can be viewed on their website under my name https://www.artistscollectiveofwestport.org/c
In 2017, my work, "6 Crows", was shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London, UK. I also have images of that piece and another work, "The Light", on the Saatchi Screen at the Saachi Gallery in London, UK.
I work in many different mediums----painting, photography, clay & mixed media.
I sometimes like transforming my artwork from one medium into another and, in so doing, make it more accessible and often radically different visually. For example, I may take an original oil painting I created, photograph it and print the photo on aluminum. The same work of art has become 3 pieces of art--a painting, a photograph & a print on aluminum. Each piece takes on the qualities of its medium & is transformed. The painting is digitally changed to high contrast black & white in the photograph. The white in the photo becomes glowing metal in the aluminum print.
Lately, I have taken it a step further and started etching on the aluminum prints--adding back a hand drawn element.
