One of Connecticut's most popular attractions, the not-for-profit Aquarium offers fun, educational experiences for all ages. Guests learn about the diversity of marine life and are inspired to appreciate and protect Long Island Sound and the ocean beyond. Featured are more than 7,000 animals of 350 species native to the Sound and its watershed, including seals, large sharks, river otters, jellies, sea turtles and more. Highlights include: touch encounters with intertidal animals, sharks and rays, and jellyfish; sensory-enhanced movies in a new 4D theater; STEM-based educational programs for schools; and hands-on public cruises aboard the Aquarium's unique hybrid-electric research vessel.
